A landmark building in the heart of Selcuk Hotel Nicea looks forward to being your home away from home during your visit. There are 30 rooms with comfortable furnishings and facilities. The hotel is superbly positioned in Selcuk and within easy walking distance to the top attractions in this historical town. We’re a 2 minute walk to the central bus station [Otoga] and a 5 min walk from the train station making arrival and departure a simple process. We have a great knowledge of the local area sites and attractions as well as those that are further afield. We’d love to help you get the most out of your stay in Turkey.
Yes! Check in from 1400hrs. Early check-in may be available on request and only if the room is available. There is no extra charge. Check out by 1030hrs. Late check-out may be available on request and may incur a fee. We welcome longer stays and weekly rates are available (subject to availability). Please see ‘Our Rooms’ for availability and rates.

We have a number of room styles to suit the budget-conscious traveller. Single, double, twin and multi-person rooms are available. A credit card is required to confirm and guarantee any reservation made directly with the property. Payment by cash or credit card is required in full at check-in. CANCELLATION A 24hr cancellation policy applies to all bookings made directly with the property. If cancellation is within 24hrs 1 x day accommodation is charged Guests who fail to check in on their scheduled arrival date will not be entitled to a refund of their accommodation charge. Besides being the closest township to Ephesus, Selcuk is an ideal base to explore a multitude of sites and attractions. Ephesus Museum is right next to Hotel Nicea. The museum houses some exquisite artefacts from the excavations at Ephesus, The Temple of Artemis and finds from the Basilica of St John, the nearby fortress and other nearby excavation sites. It’s a fantastic place to visit after you’ve been to Ephesus. The Ephesus ruins are only 2km from Selcuk and are an easy walk. While at Ephesus it is highly recommended to see The Terrace Houses excavations. There is an additional charge to access this area but you’re rewarded with the most astonishing wealth of detail showing the sophistication, luxury and life style of upper-class Roman domestic life. Other local attractions within easy walking distance include the Basilica of St John, Ayasoluk Fortress, Temple of Artemis, Isa Bey Mosque and Selcuk town itself with the aqueduct running through its centre. Other sites including The House of the Virgin Mary, Sirince Village, Ephesus Beach (Pamucak), Selcuk Steam Engine Museum, Seven Sleepers Church are a short distance by public or private transport. Our tours desk can assist you with any requirements you may have.
There are many day trips and longer side trips that you can make from Selcuk including Pamukkale and the ruins of Heirapolis (UNESCO site), Pergamon (UNESCO site), Aphrodisias and a range of others. Want to go further afield with a cross country side trip to Cappadocia and come back to the coast? We can help you plan and coordinate any combination of travel and tours across Turkey.
The nearest airport is in the city of Izmir, approx. an hour’s drive from Selcuk. We can arrange airport transfers or you can use the public train service.
Hotel Nicea is located within a 2 min walk from the Bus and Train terminals and next to Ephesus museum. If we know your arrival time we can arrange to meet you and bring you back to the hotel.
A public mini bus departs approx. every 15 mins from Kusadasi to Ephesus, Selcuk. If you have an accommodation or tour booking with Hotel Nicea we can arrange free pick up.
Yes we offer airport transfers. We can also arrange transfers to any location across Turkey. Our tours desk would be happy to assist you with arrangements.
The local attractions are within easy walking distance from the hotel including Ephesus, Ephesus museum, St Johns Basilica, Isa Bey mosque, Temple of Artemis and more. Other sites and attractions are an easy drive from the hotel and you can get there by public transport or we can arrange transport for you.
Yes you can. However we’re also able to create your entire tour itinerary before you arrive or from the moment you land in Turkey. We can arrange everything for you including all transfers, accommodation, flights/travel, tours etc. It’s as simple as letting us know what you’d like to see and do!
The main (large) Farmers market is held every Saturday and are a wonderful local experience.
